Located just over one mile to the east of San Pedro, San Juan La Laguna is smaller at around 5,000 people, and has much less tourism hustle and bustle. The town is well known for its hand-woven mats constructed from lakeside reeds — called petates. The town also has two weaving coops in town where you can browse and buy locally made woven goods.
