Located approximately 3 miles to the east of Panajachel, and on the way to San Antonio Palopo, Santa Catarina Palopo is a sleepy village when compared to Panajachel.
Surprisingly, there are plenty of lodging options in/near this town, most of which take advantage of the spectacular lake and volcano views afforded by this location — as you can see from the pictures below.
The textiles made by the indigenous people are available either through the local storefronts, as well as sometimes through vendors on the streets — we have even included the picture of a weaver below.
